Shaun has over 25 years’ experience in advising governments, regulators and businesses on economic regulation, energy sector reform, strategic business and risk allocation issues, and in providing specialist project management services. He is a founding director of farrierswier.
Shaun has a finance and accounting background, and experience in corporate advisory and specialist project management roles focusing on energy sector reform and privatisation. Previously, he was a senior manager with KPMG Corporate Finance. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Accounting and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Shaun advises governments, regulators and businesses on economic regulation, energy sector reform, strategic business and risk allocation issues and provides specialist project management services. He is a founding director of farrierswier.
Shaun was a member of the Western Australian Rule Change Panel (2017 – 2021) and was an Independent Director of the Western Australian Independent Market Operator from 2006 to 2017. He also served as an independent member of the Information Exchange Committee (established under the National Electricity Rules) from 2005 to 2016. He is currently a Director of Craft Victoria and Acclaim.
He has a breadth of electricity, gas and water industry experience, including working with distribution and retail businesses on regulator and strategy issues and working with regulators on policy and implementation issues.
Shaun has experience in working with governments, regulators, and business on matters to best achieve objectives and balance risks. His strong finance background coupled with sound business judgement enables Shaun to make intuitive and informed decisions to achieve desired financial and commercial outcomes.
