Farrierswier director Richard Owens has been appointed by the NSW Minister for Energy to lead an independent expert review into electricity transmission planning arrangements in NSW. The review will be undertaken by a panel of experts appointed by the Minister that is comprised of Richard Owens, Geoff Swier and Claire Rozyn from farrierswier plus David Swift and Jess Hunt.
The purpose of the review is to recommend optimal transmission planning arrangements that promote timely planning and delivery of transmission projects to support the achievement of NSW’s legislated objectives for a clean, affordable, reliable power system and net zero targets. In particular, the review will consider options to reduce duplication and ensure coordination between the various entities involved in transmission planning in NSW.
